Zen for Leaders
The Zen practice of Lassalle-Institut
Originated from Chinese-Japanese Buddhism, Zen is a spiritual path
with a long tradition. The Zen practice of Lassalle-Institut stands out for its undogmatic openness and is accessible for everybody regardless of his or her religion.
Zen in leadership
The dynamics of globalized markets increasingly call for leaders who complement their professional career with personality development. Leaders in business, politics, institutions, and non-governmental organizations who can lead not only others, but also themselves. In fact, authentic, responsible and, as a consequence, successful leadership starts with self-awareness and self-leadership. Competent self-leadership is based on an integral understanding of one’s own forms of conduct. Those who practice Zen learn to concentrate on essentials even in hectic conditions. They practice the art of clear vision.
The Lassalle-Institut’s Zen program consists of three elements:
- «Die Kunst des klaren Blicks» (the art of seeing clearly) is an introductory seminar that familiarizes leaders with the practice of Zen.
- «Neue Kraft aus der Stille» (strength out of silence) builds on the introductory seminar and deepens participants’ experience of Zen.
- «Work-Life-Balance aus der inneren Mitte» (work-life balance from the inner source) is a practice-oriented seminar aimed at integrating Zen experience in everyday life as a leader.
