Interest in spirituality is on the rise, not least among people in leadership positions. Initially, the focus was mainly on wisdom from the East, but in recent years, growing attention has also been paid to the spiritual sources of our own, Western culture.

Zen spirituality and the spirituality of Christian mystics have nothing to do with a detached or dreamy state of consciousness. Just as Zen requires its disciples to apply their insights “in the market place”, integrating their experience in everyday life, St. Ignatius of Loyola likewise calls for love to be shown more in actions than in words.

The seminar “Spirituality and Responsibility in the Business World” invites participants to share and discuss the spiritual traditions of Zen and St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order. The key questions are how these traditions can lead to inner freedom and what insights and inspiration they can provide for people holding positions of responsibility.
