Peter Widmer has been an assistant and seminar leader at the Lassalle-Institut since spring 2007.

He previously worked at the Evangelishce Akademie Berlin in the field of Business Ethics and as a research assistant at the University of Potsdam, Germany.

He has held various teaching positions in Austria and Germany and is currently a visiting lecturer at the University of Basel's Philosophy Department. Peter Widmer is the author of "Mystikforschung zwischen Materialismus und Metaphysik" ("Mysticism Research Between Materialism and Metaphysics").

In 2004 Pia Gyger ordained Peter Widmer as an authorized Zen teacher (Sensei) in the Lassalle lineage and gave him the Dharma name Ki Gen (Zurückführen zur Quelle). He leads the Zen Zentrum in Basel.
